little boy & The Man
while walking the garden beautiful
the tall man with beard and long-flowing
robe chanced upon a little boy sitting on
the ground looking into a place only the
tall man would understand

with a quiet sense of compassion and love
the tall man sat next to the little boy
both lost in the quiet that would develop
when The Man and the boy happened
upon one another

there was something different this was a
defining moment of something that cried
out for something anything to come of it
the cruelty the abuse the rape the killing
of the boy sitting so quietly next to

The Man

little one said with scalding remnants of
terror electrifying his every cell he had to
go back there

he had to go back to tell give them a
message he had to show them the scars
the cuts the forced points of entry from
sharp blades to body parts never meant
to be there in the most unholy of acts

he had to go tell the people they had a
chance all along to stop him the monster

they had resources diversity signs ID kits
police willing to help neighbors they had
so much terror under their own noses all
aimed at KIDS while the body public was
so amusing itself at the body bags of
soldiers coming home in pieces from Iraq
and other places so terribly important to
the freedom and liberty of cheap gas
prices at the pump

terror at home felt no sense of urgency

sex-offenders
drug-dealers
gangs
child abductors

all came and went without notice until
the next child got massacred by one of
those types no one dared thing about

little boy stood up and looked straight
into the eyes of The Man and said with
eyes full of tears anger a seething force
of focus on this horrific event he looked
at The Man and said

look at your scars
look at the scars of nails into your palms
to hang you up like some ornament at
the amusement park of depraved killers
that hung you up like some joke for all
to see

how did you feel?
how did you feel looking up asking why
your dad had forsaken you?

how did you swallow the horror knowing
all the power you have all that majesty
all that is who you are what you are why
you are why all this made not one bit of
difference in their merciless mocking
murder of you

what's the point?
where's the punch line in knowing there
is a rhyme or reason for it all when i have
left is a body violated torn to shreds held
down for such ferocious acts of murder
piece by piece and you saw it all

your father didn't stop you
so this is the punchline?

you don't stop it when we get it?

i want to go down there and tell them
they had their friggin chance to help us
kids be safe and know love compassion
giving honor duty service community
family dignity safety service real love

just one thing more

you rolled your stone away in three days
and were free to fly on you crazy diamond

i am sitting here knowing my parents my
friends are in hell forever from something
too hellish for words

i must take leave of this place and go
to my rightful place to make it right

if that ticks you off he said to The Man

don't worry about telling me to go to
hell...i'm already there right here

oh don't worry about finding me as i
know you know everything but if you
really wonder enough to look

listen to the wind blow

it whistles through all the gaping holes
torn with such force from all angles into
my little six year old body

little boy walked to the edge of the
garden and took flight to make things
right so other children would never
have to ever face the horrors of those
things so wrong courtesy of so many
who didn't give a damn to make things
so safe and right for all kids...

This Man came and LOVED and taught us wonderful lessons, but His lessons of LOVE are put into practice only by a handful of great spirits (in comparison to all of humanity). "They shall recognize us by the Love we have for each other", that's how it should be.
And will be ... through the awakening to Love that is taking place NOW.
May all the children of the world be safe.
You see, your touching poem induces me to pray.
Thank you.
Love,
Margherita
