Pale white
subdued fleshy
tint mixed
fairer shades
of sinewed arms
struck with grief
adult figures
risen from canvases
gathered from fallen twigs
peeled from backings
passed on
into other dimensions
hereafter
paler shades
once burnt bark;
accompanied
that migration
rendered into
faint pink then
heathier pigments
rebirth at beats
of hearts once
stopped
striken with remorse
reinforced still
then rekindled
sealed from ashen
wastes
teased to accept
rewards who seek
mightier hues
complexions
heaven sent..
decended to soiled hosts
colours surge
drip in wet sands
and wane
as tides rise
adults pass
and spirits rise...
the dead speak
in other lives.
