Engulfed...is this villiage
in the outer reaches
it "was"
meditation
on grand isles
utterly absorbing
in a crisp cornered
sort of way....
until
untrained queer feelings
bookmarks intentions of
some stranger's mind
lurking, spitting pity
disgust and yes, death
as his gaze sweeps force
at any image that paused
with a crash of jaws
undertaking the darkness
leaving light
as if it were
some event
ugly, bloody &  mean
sky was impotent
seducing thoughts...
hesitations...
everything!
how long can one sit
on a stair
of pursuading evil
unpacking & cataloging
the hiss of blood
steaming
from
his wicked desire
to kill?
He did! Liken to an
arch
    carved
          into
               the
                  very
                      nature
of supernatural things
like an aftermath
of harrowing preditors
teasing
an inheritance
of loss
from the
shadows of
shape-shifters
oh merciless glares
shaking heads
with sunken
blood shot eyes
whispering
the hush
of mental images
standing helpless
abandoned
with a skeletal look
spitting up
desires
that lead you
down a road
of dead ends
and there
in the mist
of stench & rot
blood secrets
touch a rabid wolf
with wonderlust
for the hunt
I say
Death
to
Death

I got goose-bumps.
Seems to be a new format for you?

"bookmarked intentions of
some stranger's mind"

The strong longings and impulses of a killer is mind-boggling and extremely frightening and one that I do not understand, yet I see them daily on my TV and they haunt me.

("shape-shifters" - excellent description)

Powerful writing here.

Oddly enough - this reminded me of a tsunami, and I have often thought of the mind of certain types of psychotic killers as having "tsunami urges", where something shifts inside and the end result is something unstoppable, devastating, deadly.

Hello All, and thanks so much for your comments...yes, this is about the mind of a killer...been going thru some difficult times of late...family members...and I've been in a slump.  A very close girlfriend wrote a book called Dead On which is about a psychotic murderer who has come back in several lives to do his work of despair and fear...also, had in mind death....and so, I suppose, I've given death a body in this...all of these things were on my mind, including the movie "Unusual Suspect".  So, yes, JL, this isn't my usual, but upon this mood, I do like to dabble with dark poetry.

Thanks to you all for your eyes and encouraging words of support.

Hugs to you all, hope all is well with you and yours.

Luv
Lee J.
