When U walk on the road
looking both ways before cros-
sing don’t always pay.

A teen-aged forsook,
girl is whistled at and stalked
just before her rings

ripped from her mom's ring
hand by a young, smoke goaded
driver. He then talked

of "Fleeing the Loss;"
as his 40-ton rig shook
18 wheels their way

onto a high-way,
into a chartered right-wing
bus, spraying gas, books

and condoms, loaded;
over 23 crosses,
worn by chicken-hawked,

whining pigeon-hawked,
school cheer-leaders in dismay.
Girl’s chains, gold-embossed

are ripped off shining
necks by some looter, whose coad
name is hook or crook,

and who also took
beepers and cells' double-talk.
The theif runs side roads,

all to get away crooked
by thumb, but before her fling
to hitch hike across

seats of some lacrosse
players' scooters, she fry cooks,
in flames, exploding

out onto the chalk
of the intersection's highway.
She dies in that road.

Crowds spread outer garments on roads
to extinguish the crosses.
Mourning mothers look away
to drunken pilots' traffic talk,
but he doesn't crash wings
in exploding gas station's cross talk;
When you walk on "Trucker's Road"
avoid empty talk,
about burning telephone poles crashing on crooked roadways, as CB's idle talk
squelched at no one, and the marijuana cigarette still smoldered across the driver’s seat.
