Tired Whiney Friday Morning Poem

I am so tired – I just want to sit back a bit and whine
Maybe over cheese cake and a bottle of sparkling wine
I just need to talk about how tired I am and all I still have to do

Oh, by the way, how are you?

Did I mention that lately I have been tired and feeling out of sorts
We could talk more about me – over coffee and a chocolate torte
Really – truly.Life is good and all is simply grand
But this treadmill I am on is sometimes more than I can stand
Right now, I am tired and just want to get some rest
Fatigue seems to put my healthy eating plan to the ultimate test
With eyes wide open my mind just drifts and dreams
Of hot chocolate brownies smothered in French vanilla ice cream

It’s so good to see you again – I hope all has been well

Now let’s sit and talk about me – I have so much to tell
Did you know that I am tired and feel a bit run down?
Do you ever feel like your world has turned into an upside frown?
Let’s take a minute and get a chocolate mint latte and a bite
It seems like lately I am wound up and just so uptight
I think a chocolate treat is the very thing that would make me smile
I am tired you know –

Let’s sit and talk for a while

How are the kids, the dog and the cat?
Do you think I am getting fat?
Let’s get together soon and we can talk about me
Do you think that German Chocolate cake is sugar free?

Oh, did I mention that I am tired?

Gave me the munchies, y'did.

"tired" some people can wear y'right out--

sounded more weary here, but surely there is one or two who really do, care.

Enjoyed the poem--but do y'think my reply was okay? *laughing*

Thank you so much and yes, I think you nailed it.  I am more weary than tired.  I am coming off months of worrying, tending and ferrying my Mom as she traveled her journey to better health.  She is better -- and I am tired.  Thank you lots for reading and understanding.

Darlin' Lady

I do so love creme brulee.  Let's get together and eat some - we can even talk about us (not me). Thanks for all the wonderful words you bring to my life.

Yep, maybe it is a PMS thing too -- I just know that these Wasabi dried peas are not chocolate (as much as I try to imagine that they are)!  Have a good weekend and thanks for reading and commenting ...

I love love love this - it sounds like me lately! I too, am taking care of both my parents and the journey is not nearly over. I practically live on chocolate, caffiene and nicotine! So, let's grab a double caramel latte grande, and order a tiramisu, then sit down together, and have a talk about you! We definitely won't get sleepy!

I'm tired of whining women
I'm tired of whining men
You think you're tired young lady
Read what falls off my pen
I get up in the morning
I haven't slept all night
I spend the daytime yearning
for the sleep I miss at night
The only time I'll rest my bones
Is when I'm in my grave
but  until then
because I'm tired
my energy I'll save.

So are 'you' really tired
or is it just a scam
to get some folks to sympathise,
feel sorry for you mam?

I'll admit I like your poetry
and the tale you have to tell
but if I could get a word in
I'd get sympathy as well!

Ivor

Your story is sad that is ever so true
Just what is a poor man like you going to do

You work all day and lay awake at night
You’ll get plenty of sleep when you are out of sight
All wrapped up in your coffin all snug and tight
Not a sound to be heard and not a shaft of light

To bother your rest as you close your eyes
Then you won’t hear my plaintive cries

Yep, I am tired and there is really no scam
You can take me (or leave me) just as I am
I write my stories but I can’t make you read
Is it the “like” for my words that make you take heed?

Ivor, Ivor here’s something you can do
You can whine on the blue pages if you want to too
In fact, if you write real good, I may listen to you
And I’ll write nice things when my read is through.

So, I am off to bed to get some needed sleep
I have no problems slumbering nice and deep
Thanks for reading and your responses are fine
I really love how you put them in poetry rhyme.

Aziza, Aziza, now you've read my song
I have to admit, I was playing along
I'm not really tired
and I sleep really well
but was caught by the nature
of your your poems spell.
To ride on it's currents
and follow your style
I felt it was best
to respond for a while
with the thoughts in the mind
of the one t'whom  you spoke
as you poured out your problems
to this girl, or this bloke.

You made it apparent,
abundantly clear,
that your whining you'd spit out
and their's wouldn't hear.
I loved how you wrote it
and felt t'others pain
for I've known many people
who are exactly the same!

my dear sweet aziza
i know you're tired, I do
but let me tell you, friend o'mine
I'm whinier than you

did you know, sweet friend o'mine
there's a 6 in the morning too?
It isn't just an evening time
I swear that it is true!

The commute to work is awful
The traffic's just a mess
It takes me 5 whole minutes
Just to get from bed to desk!

I tried to call in dead today
My boss was not amused
She said that notice is required
of not one week .. but two!

I don't want to work today
don't want to cook or clean
or care for dogs or cats or kids
I just want to sleep and dream

I have to do the laundry too
and keep the dogs from barking
While i'm listening to doctors babble
and my daughter's constant talking

This working thing is for the birds
I'm tired all the time
I need a wealthy fella
So I can just sit here and rhyme

Come on over and we'll discuss this
and have a drink, or maybe two
You may be tireder than me
but I'm whinier than you

*grins*

come on down, shuga, I'll mix ya some appletinis and we can forget about how tired and whiny we are     (I'll let ya jump on the munchkin's bed!)

love you!

Ivor, dear Ivor, you grow like a friend
I would try to listen but my words have no end
I can talk and just babble with no conclusion in sight
To take time to listen - well - it takes all my might
I'd give it a whirl and try once again
But just for a moment - do you have an ear you can lend?

It would be nice to have an extra to just carry with me
Like a portable someone to listen;it would ever so dandy.

You could look like Van Gogh (did I spell his  name right?)
And I'd have someone to talk to tucked away so safely and tight

It's only a thought, not really a plan
But I know YOU'D come through 'cause you are that kind of man!

Thank you.

sheli

You are so quick with the humor and wit
I have no coffee in hand, yet here I sit
To try to do justice to the repsonse that you write
Did I mention that I am tired and a wee bit uptight?
I do love martinis - but apples just suck
Can we have our martini simply with an olive or such?
I'd take one right now but it's only 7 am
I don't think I can justify it (even if it is with a friend)
'Course we can say it's an "Instant Breakfast" and slug it right down
A martini could bring a smile to that upside down frown

Sheli, I am on my way with some dogs and two cats
We won't take up much room (Okay the cats are more obese that just fat)
I am ready to dance and I am ready to sing
Oh the joy and the sunshine we will all bring
(insert sarcasm above)
So on to the bed jumping - we can just quit our jobs
And drink breakfast martinis and lounge like two slobs

Life is so good
Life is so grand
This wondrous plan
Is almost too much to stand!

Friends, Romans and Countrymen lend me your ear?
Removing it would be the thing that I'd fear!
To look like Van Cogh would not really do,
and to listen correctly you really need two.

So if you require me to 'lend you an ear',
along with the pair of them I will appear.
I'll need entertaining and plenty of tea
but for that I just listen and always agree.

Along with divine chaos, I'd share in your whine
(as long as you comfort me all of the time)
I am a good listener and empathise well
(but easily caught in a tired woman's spell)

Please text me or call me if we have a deal
(I'm a man who can listen to babble and squeal)
Send me two tickets, for me and my wife,
for it's her I've to thank for this skill in my life!

It seems that you have a tiny bit of a fear
When I mention the possibility that you can lend an ear
It’s actually merely a very small suggestion
I assure you that I won’t bother the ear that’s in question
It’s really quite nice of you to kindly volunteer
To fly over the ‘pond’ to come on over here
Just to take some time to have a bit of tea
For you and your wife to spend some time and listen to me
It would be ever so comfy to sit and shoot the breeze
Hey, I would even talk about a bit more than me
We could spend some time to talk about you
I can be quiet to listen for a minute or two
I can’t wait to meet you – we sure will grand old time
But I have no money – so you are gonna have to buy the ticke

on your own dime.
