Feeling Tomorrow

My goodness she
sure looked cute,
pushing her cart
in Safeway in her high
heals and her sharkskin suit.
I tried not to
catch her eye,
still I did,
and as I wondered why,
she found herself asking me
if she could come
over tonight,
and I told her no,
so she said that she
would be free to come
over in the morning,
to heat up some toast and eggs,
and again I said no,
so she said allright,
then I suppose its
goodnight sweetheart
and then she turned and
walked away,
and as I watched
her walking away
I had nothing
left to say.
Still I wondered how
I would feel
in the morning.
