So
We’ve lived our lives
Each alone
Though not without
Other company

And the time has come
To say goodbye
In a different year
And hour

Then I will wait for you
By the shore
Our boat is fit
And ready

To row you to
The island we never found
Where love is the only criterion

For us
To be
Finally happy

John,
An interesting write. I like that it presents hope.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Larry C,

In ancient times the Japanese believed
that upon death a lady was rowed
to the Island of Paradise
by her first love.

Thank you

John
