Twisted, broken, distorted and mangled…

The roots of this pain have outgrown and overtaken me,
betraying the very foundation that has entrusted me with this life.

It has left me here, broken and fractured,
and exposed…

I am inside this vessel, looking out from these mangled roots….
and I know, there is nothing short of a miracle
that can free me

I scream but all that surrounds me is silence
and then I realize….
I’ve only been screaming on the inside….

Deep inside this solitude, where I once found peace
I find I am alone
and for once in my life, I am scared

My spirit will rise

There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~

And you expressed so well - my heart goes out to you and I am hoping that you are soon mended.  Thank you for sharing this deeply personal poem.

This is a beautiful pouring-out of deep emotions.
Soul wrenching to read, and understand.
It also has such continuity with all living, no matter where in the world they may be.
Truly very beautifully said.
This is a keeper.

You really hit home for me with this poem, especially this stanza. You have said my life out loud. It took coming back here to the blue pages for me to realize that I am not alone after all. I pray for that miracle for both of us, BlueEyes. And if I may, will keep a copy of your poem, so that when I am having a lost day and can't say why, I can pull this out and read it....and not be so scared.

Many hugs to you~~~

Wow ... your descrptive use of "roots" in this piece reveals a very clear picture for the reader.

Sad sentiments shared in this one but still a great powerful read.

always seeking joy, adventure and romance and wishing you find the same
