Lovely words and pic, Nancy!  The sea brings so many things to the shore but the shore just sits there unmoved by it all.

I have been to Ontario, but not Erie...would love to go up there for a visit sometime...Erie PA...

One of the best times I ever had was on the back of our Kit's Dad's big motorcycle, jsut cruising along the shores of Lake Erie, and yes, it is absolutely beautiful there.  I forget those special burls are they there?  People are removing them whatever they were, and they were sure neat.

Oh shoot, I forgot to say, 'twas a lovely poem and picture that reminded me.
