I hyperventilate
At the thought of even considering thinking
of being with another man
And what would the world think of me?
A starved child
hungry
for adultry.
But his capture is stunning
Most lovely that I've seen.
And his voice can soothe me
Without ever saying a thing
Yet,
my heart is beating
faster than I'm thinking
And that's why I'm falling
uknowing of where I'll land
I'm almost hoping
I'll [mess] up
so I can have an excuse
for running away again
I could blame it on uncertainty
Or on lack of chivalry
I could even reel it 'round to me
and blame you on why I'm unhappy
But guilt is a rock in my throat
Shattering slowly
'cause I won't
let go.
And you haunt me while I'm sleeping
Choking on restless dreaming
And I know that you won't let go
Because you know what you've got
to hold on to.
I'm never really ready for anything, though.
Any change is a surprise
that seems to alter the sunrise.
And my nights would never be lonely,
And the sun?
  She wouldn't even know me
So I'm not quitting now
When I said I loved you
I said I meant it
