Boxed

Looking through the window of mans dissolution

victors of the past become victims of the future

wading in the tepid waters of failure

seeing the result of our evolution

Cornered they sit boxed and tied with pretty ribbons

echoing cries racing through acidic air

blinded and angry, they claw at themselves

helpless animals caged and scared

Some reaching some falling, it comes to the same

nothing but fear can keep them at bay

nails dig in to bruised skin drawing blood

screaming inside, they'll never be heard

In unison they tremble, but are easily dissembled

they rip apart and forget they were ever one

a common goal, the same incentive

united they fall, divide and come undone

the way with certain peoples in the cradle of civilization, perhaps not so strangely united in their eternal conflicts? Some cradle...

hey Spinxen, it's nice to see you are rocking the cradle of civilization...or love. Thanks for your comment on my poem.
