Hydrating

Play the song it vibrates
listen       win
roots of trees are dirt bound
I wave like leaves
the birds my alibi
sing   the sun is warm
and feathers are my heart

Midnight was so long ago
and the color of shadows
making corners in open spaces
talking of this and that
a child hiding under the bed
waiting for feet to dangle
she threads the sharp hole
of her own despair

She is no longer there

Play that sweet guitar it’s day
along the wire where I hold on
looking for the rip current of air
where I can jump into the drift
thermal riding with my hair

It’s time to up turn and dig out
scratch the shovel take the glen
listen wind I am your friend
into the day I’ll win
the ticket heavy in my hand

Don’t tell the goodbye yet
I’ll just drink one drop and let it pour
from someplace catch and fill of cloud
a river is so written with my will
I’ll drive it home
so that just one tear can fall
and gift it to you that is all

Ah Martie,
Our friends are gone, but not forgotten. Nicely done and an excellent way to remember.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

It was my loss, to have been his friend without ever knowing him as deeply as you. But we had so little time, and far too much in common, for it to have come to be.

Still, I miss him.

Thank you for this Martie~
We shall never forget such a dear man.

"Perhaps
they are not the stars
But rather openings in Heaven
Where the love of our lost ones
Pours through and shines down upon us
To let us know
they are happy" -Michael Auguste
