If only Pandora’s box were open for me
What dreams could be, and things to see
To brave an unknown schism in space
To set my sights on a distant place

To walk in crumbling ancient ways
Pulled by a beauty of modern days
To see the marvels of Florence or Rome
Hands clasp hands and forever home.

Amore, Amore, adorned and foreverlorn
Mon Cherie, take my heart forevermore
Make me a child of eternal Rome
Invade my dreams and take me home.

Spark the flame and ignite the flight
Of Classical awe in warm autumn nights
And in the Trevi, I shall inter my dreams
Sending them forever down the Acqua Vergine.

Stand with me in the ruins of Pompeii
As I watch the beauty of it flood your eyes
And ask myself which is more splendid to see
These ancient ruins or your presence with me?
