They told me he killed someone,
With his beautiful heart,
And an instrument string,
From his loving guitar..

When you were a little boy,
You always practiced so hard.
Little boy,
Oh so very hard.

Gifted child you strummed your pain,
So unaware of the dangers,
Becoming unattached.
Forever in and out with strangers.

I don't believe this is true.
That instrument you learned to strum upon,
Meant more to you than your precious heart.

Never heeding your bleeding fingers,
Never caring just how many
Would dare to listen and believe in you.

You had a song to sing,
And always kept on humming.
Even after they silenced you,
With your ever strumming strings.

They told me you killed someone,

From your ever loving guitar.

The beauty of talent expressed musically is indeed a gift that can evoke so many emotions. And I think I read this as you intended for I did not see it as being "dark," but as a tribute.
