"The cornfield"

As I stand here alone in this cornfield,

The almost silent humming sound of the wind blows through my hair and all around me,

The golden corn gently lashing from side to side keeps in rhythm with the wind,

And the glowing sun warms along side my face.

I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life,

yet…

I close my eyes and with the wind around me I sway gently back and forth,

Each time breathing out as though it were my last,

Every breath a part of me.

I can feel my heartbeat slowing down now,

Matching alongside the pace of the wind,

Gentle and calm.

And with my eyes closed I extend out both of my arms,

and gently tilt back my head,

The slow gusts of wind wash over the palms of my hands and the curves of my face,

Co-existing in perfect harmony,

Slowly but carefully warming my heart,

Touching every single emotion inside of me.

And with my body rendered powerless I fall down to my knees,

The corn cradling me as I fall,

Holding me tight to protect me,

Shielding me from danger.

But suddenly the wind stops,

Everything is quiet and so peaceful now,

No more sounds…

just silence.

I open my eyes and look up into the clear blue sky above me,

And with an open mind,

Free from confusion or doubt,

I realise,

This is where I belong now,

I am at home here in this cornfield,

And although I am all alone,

I have never felt so....,

complete.

When you come home to yourself you are where you belong.
Enjoyed the read and could feel the freedom of the cornfield and the peace.

To be this connected with the self, and at home in the world is striking.
You worked through this majestically.

Excellent write.

"The Cornfield.....Please read me"

... ask and you shall receive ... actually I would have "read" you even if you had not requested it. (smiling here)  And as for me, before I post, I take the time to read other's work first and leave them comments/replies.  *wink wink*  Now back to my reply....

"... And with an open mind,

There's a lovely flow and rhythm to this piece and you take the reader on a journey that is comforting.

This gave me Peace ... Enjoyed.

These are the moments we live for.

That was a beatiful poem, expressive and detailed without being to moony. I could feel the peace and brush of the wind.
