Favorite Memories
A Song
By Paul Wilson

Each song a memory
each memory a heartache
Don’t know how many more memories
this old heart can take

We shared the best and worst
life threw our way
Two people in love
forever and a day

Catch my tears that are falling
like stars from the sky
A million questions un-answered
Only one that matters “ Why “

Give me a reason
give me a sign
So I can mend
this broken heart of mine

Each song a memory
each memory a heartache
Don’t know how many more memories
this old heart can take

Songs of yesterday remind me
of the love we shared
What a fool I was
thinking you cared

Turn off the radio
close the door
It’s plain to see
you don’t love me anymore

Another day of heartache tomorrow
I’ll play your favorite memories
I’m just a D.J on the radio
with my own memories

Each song a memory
each memory a heartache
Don’t know how many more memories
this old heart can take

Paul~

Why, sir ... if I had a mug of beer, I think I'd be crying in it~

Sad ... and very enjoyable~

I am a country music fan
and I agree that this song
fits nicely in that genre.

It's a song I can hear Alan Jackon sing.

I would enjoy hearing it during my day.

Paul, what a delight to hear you are creating songs!

Loved this! I can relate so well...certain songs just bring back memories, I know.

Keep on writing and singing!

The Lady...Thank you. Those old country songs played on the radio have a way of bringing up memories, some good some not so good, but I still love them all...Paul

stevenr...Country is right. It would fit perfect during the 60's and 70's when honky tonks were in full swing.
Thanks for taking time to read and reply...Paul

aziza...Your reply is greatly appreciated.

I am country as well and would love to have this sung by Alan Jackson or George Jones. They both have a special way with a song that can touch your heart in many ways.
I'm sure they both get thousands of songs pitched to them by thousands of people like me, so I will keep on dreaming...Paul

Dixie...I only try writing songs and couldn't sing if I tried LOL.
If I could have a favorite profession it would be writing songs and hearing them sung on the radio, and having people sing along with the artist and relating to my words in some way, creating memories for them.
Thanks so much for reading and your reply...Paul

Excellent song Paul.
