solitary lunch
at osteria del pescatoria
fisherman's little restaurant
slow rain playing
mussels with black furry beards
bread dipped in butter wine sauce
tastes like your fingers
right there
next to the nail

wandering
sipping easy jesus brandy
our lady of the parking lot
simpering in oil spill water
her judgment face following me

I tell my rosary
to the memory of
your hands

genuflect
list my pain
my simple sin
I love the way those 501’s
don’t fit your skinniness
the way those buttons don’t make any
sound

oh lady
forgive me
listen to the way the rain air breathes me
rattling
slicing through my desire
my unholy godless need

dear lady
bless my plastic tumbler
my easy jesus brandy
and tell me
didn’t you ever feel the miss of a face

on a skinny man
in 501’s

all the Levi's 501s that I've seen on men have fit very nicely LOL

and yeah, the buttons don't make a sound, do they?
