i cannot believe i did what i did…
i cannot believe what is done is done,
for i lost fourteen lines of poetry divine
and though ‘twas not a sonnet, it rivaled
the greatest of odes composed by the greatest
poets of all lands and all times
forsooth, i am left with nothing
but empty fonts and bland pages
where once the sun rose upon my parchment
and all of life’s jewels were treasured there
i am left bereft of heart and soul
trying to learn the lesson that surely comes
from not saying yes to ‘save thy work’

and the canvass closes before my eyes
cause Gates does not employ a command which says

‘save all thy work without having to ask me’
and thus protect my work…especially from me

Isn't that a heart stopping experience?
I've had that happen to me several times.
I must remember to hit the save button
with the change of every comma or word.

Fret not, Poet...
Thy verse lives on...for what springs from the heart will again find the pages yet to be written.
Grin...gotta make those save buttons brighter!
