“wordsmith wanted”, the sign did clearly read
(help needed) the tile did plainly say…
so I filled out the application
(or was it an appliqué?) French required, you see

and sat down for the interrogation
they called an interview
(which I thought only happened
on the psychiatrist’s couch)

you know, when you talk and talk
and get an inter view of your self
but I digress, or so the storyteller says
when the story is forgotten

and he knows not what to say…oh, yes
wordsmith, wordsmith…I pondered and I pondered
that’s right, I finally remembered their song…
you know, “Walk this Way”, which I did

and cleverly wrote my name on the top line
backwards, as if to say, “See I told you
that I was good so words with,
that I could be your wordsmith.”

and now I write speeches for the president…

thank you all for your kind comments, but remember, this is from the mind whose favorite song is, "watchmaker, watchmaker, make me a match"...I just love "my fair lady"
