coming up trumps

sharing true friendship
noisily expelling gas
no inhibitions

The moment created this second, is a  moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

No truer friend this way shall pass
Than he who overlooks your gas
One that smiles, but never telling
Of the fumes you are expelling

Though tears may form and eyes may burn
He calmly waits ‘til it’s his turn
Then graciously returns the favor
A rich aroma you can savor

Then once again you must impart
A sample of your gasseous art
As back and forth the vapors go
You pray fresh air will start to flow

Your sinuses begin to clear
Thanks to your buddy sitting near
A volley fired, the war’s begun
And as your nose begins to run

Your pal gives you a smirking look
From the battering your nose just took
You see his eye begin to twitch
As your poor nose begins to itch

Then silently you make a vow
You’ll win this gaseous war somehow
Another shot of methane doom
And people start to leave the room

The smile has left your buddy’s face
The two of you have cleared the place
But now he must accept his fate
As once again you flatulate

You hit him with an SBD
Through tear filled eyes he cannot see
As once again you lift your leg
You hear your friend begin to beg

“You are the better man today!”
“Let’s save some for another day”
No more vapors must you render
He has given full surrender

Your buddy bids a fond goodbye
A twinkle comes into your eye
There’s not a need to wait ‘til later
You’ll join him on the elevator

Please forgive the school yard humor but I just couldn't resist. Thanks for the laugh Ivor. Take care and Have fun. Steve

Interesting responses, thank you all.

Here I am trying to make serious poetry of the ancient kind out of the wonders of nature and what happens....

......everybody comes sniffing around trying to share it!

Steve,
excellent piece of flatulence was it brewed especially for the occasion or had it been simmering for a while....

This could make a good thread...

any takers?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
METHANE THREAD?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Why is it ladies never trump?
or so they always say.
While us poor men get all the blame
for smells that drift their way.

Remember well what Kipling said,
do not believe their tale.
Prepared to have your nostrils singed
when girls go on the ale.

For even though, they may just squeak,
as dainty bums exhale
"The female of the species
is more deadly than the male."
