I hate staring into the face,
Of what I'm supposed to be
Torturing myself all these years,
Into what you could want me to be.

But please don't make all of me change,
So much of me has broken
From all the times before.
So far all you've asked,
I've given.
Never considered what it is,
That I'm doing for you.

The tears that prick my eyes are not for you,
They're mine,
And all I have left,
Don't take them from me.
Just smile and turn,
Just smile and turn.

Learn to give and not receive,
Learn to forgive and not deceive.
Please see this as a cry from my heart,
I need you to leave me be.

Damage you've done,
Leave well alone.
All you managed undone.
Sit down and shut up,
Wake and 'fess up,
You've done wrong by me!
