Sometimes I Cry

Walking forward the landscape changes
Darkness lays secretive skirt over fair skin
Fingers shadow play along the hemline, slipping in
Lifting edges on the breeze as dawn blows kisses
Here sensitive appeals, shaded from harsh hand,
Speak truth, let linger in pleasing scent the land reveals

Softer, where the belly has been bared
Modestly covered from the cold, warmed by breath
When the sun sits regally on a throne of gold
Sending messenger to caress open a path, truth be told
Nothing was hidden, only wintering in solitude
For the eyes of a deeper love to see, with gratitude

Sadness has no power here, among lovers
Settling next to still waters, jeweled in light
New buds awaken, trembling under tender touch
His lips, pursed beneath the velvet voices of yearn
Petals shy open to receive the gift of sigh
Holding back full bloom until the waters rise

To lift her face into his warm and willing palms
Into his arms, then bending back secure her charms
Unveiled robust and ruddy virtues sing
For sheer my witness love observes kin spirit spring
The character of change may lie
Though happily, sometimes I cry
