I went to church today
surprised
that the ceiling didn't crack...
the walls didn't fall...
and people were in jeans.

And even though I hurt,
I danced again.

Alison, go ahead and go! It does wonders! I had a wonderful time even though the guy who invited me wasn't there...I met so many nice people...the music was great...and I am looking forward to going back every Sunday now

Ahhhh - again - we are so alike! I miss church. I'm not able to go often, haven't found a church I feel comfy in yet, either. So I have my gospel CD's here and have my own little prayer & singing times! (My neighbor probably wishes I wouldn't sing tho LOL)

I am so glad you danced. It makes me smile.

Dixie

I have built a church of a different kind, but understand this well.  Sometimes I wish I could go back to a time when I was a child and believed that church could heal.

Lovely poem...short and meaningful

"and people were in jeans."

.....not leopard skins then?

I liked this one and do seem to know where it came from,  like Martie,  I have found several different churches of a different kind, mainly within my mind,

and yes they can help heal....
