In a state of disrepair...

A hundred thousand people
lying washed up on the shore
shaded by the stunted trees
and being eaten by the sand life

Cutting hands from deadened arms
as easy as butter without dismay
no right handed people left alive
but the wounds don't bleed

That mirror wasn't there
when I went to sleep
the reflections didn't talk back
or try to claw their way out

I didn't lie on the ceiling
grinning at the long dead girl
who's sleeping in my bed
her eyes looking right at me

The unbloated and serene
half light nightscape of death
raises my voice in a scream
that whips me wide awake

Shivering in a dark midnight room
fearfully wondering what it means
that my mind conjures up a dream
to terrorize my sleep...

I'm scared of counting sheep

"They will plunder all your dreams
And take away your teddy bear... "
