old bachelors tell stories
of greek deities
erstwhile romantic notions
lost idyllic sentiments of need
nymph of mountains
infinite eros
claims the shell
painting dolphins in the mist
quintessential
feminine forms
trade and cultures
human irrational longing
craves a body void of characteristics
reasserting itself
fostering nature
an artistic moment
of folk songs
with sounds of future

paying attention to Shakespeare
confining allusions
say superstition
of tender sentiments
sprayed with enlightenment
wallowing sensitivity
defining essence
in some land of spiritual romance
like tropical islands
fostering sensual walks
in generations drawn to it
like musical tones of love

and so the stories go
old bachelors taste
wild and romantic
for another waltz with time
a powerfully drawn impulse
for the hopeless romantic
changing the definition
of how man co-exists
or what it simply means
to be human
in a land of
disillusionment &
discontent

feelings well captured...but I think you could broaden your scope from 'old bachelors' to 'all men...'
