.

Just what is it you thought
You would actually
Find here

This scrap of rock
Was never much
More than a convenient spot to start
For a myth whose volumes
Are made of air

And who did you imagine
Just for you
Would be waiting in passion
Along the shore

Flies will always gather round
And the predators a little further in
Will make you wish you were never born

.
