noticed prints outside the entrance
compelling hearts to turn and see
the shadows deep and deep’ning
cast in shades of reverie

as dreams invite the dreamer
so do thoughts entreat the mind
of closer prints that wade the soul
and kiss the pavement kind

that leads the soul-led pathway soft
to the gateway of heart’s hall
and enters safe into the haven
carved, that softly serves the fall

to catch the steps that stride the soul
and rest the prints that go un-noticed when
the path leads so far away and seems so long ago
when noticed once, ’tis safe to say, is noticed yet again
