We Venture Near

Your voice lingers
Circling my thoughts as leaves
Upon a patterned autumn wind
We each carry life’s etchings
Seasons and reasons, like watermarks

There is never un-love
Though what burst my heart
Made room, dawning map inside
Experience does not a victim make
For gratefully, to have known it

Too often, on the path
Wounds instruct hesitation
Dampening collisions with the trees
Yet never has a tree struck me
Arms that bow, sentinel and reverence

And all of that, and all of this
Gives credence to dreams
I see myself holding priceless
This wondrous trust in my hands
As I never gave away, that of me, meant for you

this deserves to be sent back to the top...though I must admit I do not understand it all, I must confess its beauty
