Daisies For My Eyes

Faint and fan beats, danced the sidewalk
Ballerina point on cracked pale chalk
The smell of grass as dust on summer eve
Lay down amazed and watch day leave
The come and go commencement frail
Far fetched to eager fairytale

Shall not the heart set blueprint for the soul?
The rich of dreams dug up and turned to spring

Made ready for the chapter next we write
Where hands sculpt legends as they light
And follow stories told in tale so bold
With passion, every sway of seasons, hold
Making bloom, even as the snow may fall
A bed we build of elm and oak so tall

Shall not the fruit so ripe taste sweet?
When drizzled lips were meant to meet

The subtle changes moonlit see
Preparing us for destiny
In solitude, the waters swell
Anticipating wishing well
And understand the past in knowledge speaks
As daisies for my eyes, and roses for my cheeks

what an excellently beautiful write...the opening lines are exquisite

"Faint and fan beats, danced the sidewalk
Ballerina point on cracked pale chalk
The smell of grass as dust on summer eve
Lay down amazed and watch day leave"

beautiful lines, beautiful poem...loved it

Loved this..the entire piece Kathleen.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.
