The Dig

Dig the wasteland of your mind
And find beneath a fossil rind
A skull of bone now turned to stone
That once had built a velvet throne

That once had held a primal dove
A heart that swelled of vestige love
A core that built a human ridge
An Eden with a rainbows bridge

And though this world has long since past
The thought of it will ever last
Above those changes in the grime
To last until the end of time

For where once life had stirred within
It stays a field that’s past the skin
Weaves a web of brandy prime
A shroud that stays forever’s time

So make your temple spirits zone
And you will never be alone

I dig it, Sy

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

I think the first three lines said it all. I like it.

And I said to the devil, "You better leave my spleen alone."

Thank you for the good thoughts. But the older you are the harder and longer it takes to get ride of these things I'll be OK.

I don't know about you but this line about sums up my daily wish ...

It stays a field that's past the skin

If and when I go, I'll still be around
On a boyfriend's shoulder I will be found.
Let any young man hurt a girl of mine,
He's find himself in the devil's line.
