Trustlessness
keeps tusseling
my sanity in taffy pull--
as if I ought to be ashamed
of what I learned there in the flames
for screaming as I'm scorched again
by the torch, ambivalent
in equation with desire--
or is that a birth defect?
I was squired from the sin
of the yearning burning flesh.

Put your hand into my flame.
I've been naughty, once again--

but maybe now you see my point

and words remain as --

point-less-ness

I pray forgive me and annoint
my soul back into purity
with ashes on my head
and burnt
by the lessons that I spurned
via lack of learnedness
not for lack of earnesty
or is it just "not innocent"
which denies me amnesty
squalling for my mother's teat--

a game which only martyrs win

and I am not a Saint.

mainly I root for my glasses these days...

but? I guess if y'wanna take the football slant on this--don't you agree that the San Antonio Saints would be redundant?

But then, St. Anthony finds "lost" things--too, now what a story that would make, eh?

And sheesh. Can we just not talk football?

I hate football so no problemo.  I thought you were talking about curing insanity, well in a way you are right?

Ser, I think those are some of the most penetrating lines I have read for a long time.  Think, perhaps, I could use a little bit of that purification and annointing myself.  It's a tight rope to walk -- being human and being pure.    *hugs*....jojo

What happened to sack cloth and self-flagellation to go with the ashes?

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
