Bound In Circles

I am no good to you like this,
bound in circles of my reality,
wanting more from the night
than it has to offer.

I've been faced with my own mortality
long before and many times more
than I've been faced with yours.

I've seen that some things happen
for no reason at all
but I still get long-winded
in trying to explain it to myself.

I take what I can get
and give what I can spare
though it never seems to be enough
for either side of the sun.

Sometimes I want you.
Sometimes not.
Either way, I'm dying,

bound in circles of my reality,
breathing the air of silence
while praying for something
to make sound in the night

I'm no good to you like this.
