Listening to every heart

And Brotherhood Endures

We came to exchange things, after some time,
like height, and weight, and conversations
some that we only     heard       with heart.
But when was it that we exchanged
the mantle of        protector?

I have no pictures by which to remember
that time before or at the moment of your birth,
for I was not yet two, still, there you are,
a memory of mine in mind; and
I knew you to be someone special in time.
even recalling your first cry, and knew that
keeping you safe was to be my trust.

After a period of genetic growth, you became a
grasshopper of uncommon denomination,
strumming heartbeats of yourself, then
sharing from your heart, loving your play,
eventually gifting it to others through Him.

We forged along our separate ways
for some time; too much time, really,
but that chasm never held; and in time, as if
two mountains were shuddered and shuttled
by some intense quake, we moved closer, stronger,
more assured; then, when the quake subsided,
having done its all we came to know our bridge again,
knowing we were “at home” once more,
safe within one another’s heart.  We multiplied
our together times by the crystal light and
magnificence of siblinghood.

Now, in the quiet times, as you come to me
in moments of reflection, all I can say is
thank you,
for the reflection of your smile,
for leaning on me, and allowing me
to lean on you.  For sharing
your spiritual values, your quiet thoughts,
your dreams, and your acceptance.

For never hearing the term “grasshopper” in
any other way, other than as a student
of life, love, and the urge to follow one’s dream.

Live on, Robert.

I can do anything, because He believes in me.

A beautiful tribute Karilea.
Fagin will live on forever in our hearts
with your words, and the ones he left for us as a member of Passions.

I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

Oh Karilea, this is such a beautiful tribute to your brother. He will forever live in your heart, just like my brother does mine.

How could your loving words not bring a tear to the eyes of a reader.

I literally got a lump in my throat. This is my favourite photo of your brother. I feel your pain.

Feel the love we have for you in this circle of friends.

Giving you a loving, compassionate hug,

Linda
