Valentine’s February – Tanka Trio

Snowing, drifting flakes
Comes sifting quiet from skies
Two hearts come to warm
As red-headed woodpeckers
Come courting one little Miss

~&~

You offered your kiss
The shape of one candy heart
Then letters tumbled
Soon two rumbling minds and souls
Taste "I love you" on sweet lips

Valentine’s message
In shirking a ruler’s law
Subterfuge deployed
Truth and secrets of love - writ
Man and woman: Husband, wife.
