I think that I shall never see

They pass me in their hurrys
It is plural, each of them has one
out there on the road,
and I have my hurry too.
It’s catching but you could be here,
I wouldn’t give it to you.

I am not in it
nor it in me.
Cold cement damp on my pants-butt
reminds me of itself,
myself.
The wet almost-circle of cloth
challenges my Zen but only a little.

What was I thinking?
They pass me in their thought; singular.
I’ll never get that one, never see,
mine being different; my being different
as cold cement.

No, I shall never see
why the good things go, the dreams
falter
nor why I’m left here in this park
alone with my rain and the echoes of
all the unreachable hurrys,

those and the wet impatient ducks
still quacking and nosing.
Their butts are wet too and they don’t mind;
but they are hungry for Zen and
bread I don’t have.

Where did the life go? The
everything, you know;
my hair asks the little breeze, where
the love, the breeze that has already passed
before I feel it, the
everything. It doesn’t answer.

I think that I shall never see
shall never see
shall never
I stay until the dark swells around me
and the wet is warm, succinct.
No, I shall never see.

challenges my Zen but only a little"

~*~

I don't know, Sir, if this is
quite right... ...you see,
I believe each hair once felt a breeze,
and that you do know...

and that the unreachable hurries
are still to be.

Because you are this...

and because you won't quit.

I know...because my brother
told me so.

You are so talented Ed.
Never stop writing..and I'll never stop reading you.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

I can see this, and you know, my point of view is the one with the wet pants and the zen.  This one is strong.

I think you might be my favorite poet on here. I mean that.

I loved the feeling of potential reality, somewhere between simple humans and the force of nature...
like speaking directly to the deepest wound
pounding it on the head, asking, what could I have been thinking...life's unavoidable determination of wars, peace, profound alternatives...trying to shape our reality, each and every one.

Loved this immensly

Dear Ed....parks and ducks and the breeze in hair...you are there, your notebook clinging to your hand and your pencil like a kite, uplifted!

Ed from the shallowest cuts you bleed poetry.

a good commitee can decimate communication.

Good to see you, Lady....it's been a while.

And yes, I know you know it....wish you didn't.

Some things are beyond our eyes... beyond our comprehension... and cold reality is such a poor companion.

This leaves me aching... and understanding... and in awe of your talent.
