Eve :

how can you be so "Cavalier" about playing for Cleveland

can you imagine the paycheck you'd be receivin'

if they invited you to play for just one romantic evening

howard :

                                           sweetie, looks can be deceivin'

until they hand me my uniform, i'll continue writing myself into believin'

that i'm your favorite guitar strand or at least your best friend

eve :

howard, will this gladness ever end?

what can i do to mend

                                                 your broken heart

                      without betraying my lemon Sweettart?

howard :

                       Honey, I’m your lemon Sweettart!!!!!!!!!

                                 [eve frowns]

Okay, but what about the other guy

                             He gets to say hi

Just give me the same start you gave him

that should be nowhere near the rim of your wedding vows

[startled, Eve looks up with anticipating eye brows]

eve :

                       but .........

howard :

I’ve seen the way you two play  "one on one"

                                              in your Staples Center gym

we've yet to talk one on one

                       no wonder understanding is slim

we're too special for "one and done"

from the moment i encountered you all i've ever wanted is the same friendly passes you give other guys

i  admit  i tried to "run and gun"

before you knew my shoe size

but everytime i see your sexy thighs

ready to mingle down a surrealistic sidewalk

with a guy who dreams to "skywalk" into your arms

it's so hard to believe you're not single

especially when my Spidey Senses tingle

                                                           with alarm

that you've already invited him to your farm

while you keep telling me that i'd be breaking league protocol, if i swarmed

                                                         into your heart

and tell you what i should've from the start

that i love you even if my “face to face” art wasn’t tantalizing enough to  justify all the reasons we could be squeezin’ each other

                                                           [eve sighs]

eve :

howard, let's go back inside, it's freezin'

                                                              out here

                                                                                                 love,

                                                                                                 eve & howard
