UNIVERSAL LAW
’like attracts like’

All around in ethereal space,
Blend thoughts of mutual souls.
Combined to form the unities,
That merge to make the ‘whole’.

But many mansions has this land,
With levels far and near.
Unwritten laws of ‘like on like’,
Keep all in order here.

Amoeboid like, these mansions flow,
With new life born within.
Engulfing others in their fold,
All those who will ‘fit in’.

Through different levels all souls pass,
The one that we live here,
Is the spirit’s learning ground,
Where souls feel joy and fear.

When life has run, your soul returns,
It’s drawn back to a place.
Where you will share the wisdom gained,
While running in life’s race.

So if in life you’ve truly learned,
The meaning meant for all.
In peace you will return fulfilled,
If not, you’ll sure to fall.

Some mansions will bring perfect peace,
While others are real hell.
Depends on what you made of life,
In which one you will dwell.

For ‘like on like’, remains the law,
When searching for the ‘whole’.
For where you find yourself in life,
Is where you’ll find your soul.

Ivor...Your thought filled poem reminded me of the first poem I ever wrote when I was about 17, I think...and that was a long time ago!!

       This Day

On this day of years gone by
of many minutes passed,
the memory of a sunset gold
in memories will not last,
for sunsets are the symbol of
another day gone by,
and always those that bring new days
are first to meet the eye.

Minutes are for those who wait,
and those who let them pass,
with sixty seconds every one
until their days are done, at last.
This seems to me a useless task
for those who like to count,
for what are minutes in a life
that’s lived for no account.

When days go by I am not sad
for age is but the task,
of counting all the wisdoms learned
from moments in the past,
for life at last is all
that you would have it be,
and only those who know this fact
have truly lived, you see.

Thanks for this and the reminder...hope you don't mind my including the poem in my reply.

The ten commandments and its dole
Ten fold is the goal of the soul.

"a hidden world with mysterious substance, where we pan for gold."

are you talking about this world or the next, as this speaks of our physical world to me...

Martie
I wish I could have written poetry with the wisdom of your words when I was seventeen!

I love people giving me the gift of poetry back in response to my words, it is the greatest honour you bestow upon me.

Your poetry reminded me of a definition of experience I always seek when looking at a job applicant with say 10 years in an industry:

Has this person has ten years experience, or one years experience ten times!

Seymour
yes, you definitely reep the harvest from the seed you sow and the care you give the crop!

Thank you all for responding, I am still a little confused as to how people navigate this site as I seem to have difficulty getting anything in the other forums noticed.

I have a story in the prose section 'shivering mechanics' and just wondered if anybody actually sees it!

What page do most members use as the home page... any help will be appreciated.

Sods Law

What goes up must come down
What come hither must go round
No free dinner no free lunch
If you’re hit return the punch
Energies cant be destroyed
It takes two to get annoyed
If you don’t mind It don’t matter
My own law “Mind Over matter”
