unfinished character

if i’d release myself to quivering moments
would times of yore be blunt & clueless?
unknown suddenly meets by chance
running away screaming, to a writing table
searching my dreams
biting the lip of answers, a gambler’s yonder sea
looking up to the stars
pain of broken heart, brings things of promise
retreating yesterday fetches wings of mythology
the coins I own, are pretty enduring
they want me to be strong
I call upon courage to obtain the long awaited
new sky of hope, intensely blooming
gentleness of truth, visits an eternal gaze
wounded words become you
like swimming on a page of depth
lonely times are lighted peaceful
to fortunes lifting us up and down
gentle waves of here and now
they are brave, dear heart
they are brave
encouraging forward tears
does the nightmare awake?
enveloped is the struggle
flames of war within
someone stands beside us
with mind hidden
tomorrow holds me tightly
the old wounds know me well
caressing my silence
we are friends now
adventures where miracles happen
scanning the shadows
a glimpse catches me
I stand perfectly still
this time,
sunken in depths of oceans
from which I will be smoothed
I would
not be
the same
if I hadn't
known you

loved the write, but especially like the line, "tomorrow holds me tightly", sheds new light on a favorite phrase of mine--the confines of time...nicely written...nicely done...

Hello, Lovely Lee!

"I call upon courage to obtain the long awaited
new sky of hope, intensely blooming"

~ Keep the faith, Dear One! There are even better times ahead!

"I would
not be
the same
if I hadn't
known you"

~ People come into our lives for a reason and a season. Some seasons are longer than others. Regardless of how long they remain in our lives, each person along the road affects  us in one manner or another.

May those who come your way, be for your Higher Good.

Beautifully written.

Lovin' hug,
Linda

You grow deeper, and you deepen anyone who reads you. I would not be what I am now, had I not known YOU.

I wonder of character...
knowing that it is
an every day process

for one to evolve

and never be done
in toto

Very nice Lee J.
Such eloquence in this write, but that last verse speaks volumes from your heart.

Amazing write once again Lee!

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

The whole piece just screams out at me.  The lines others have noted jump out at the reader, yet I especially like your weaving of the above.

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.
