when we speak love
we speak words of wood smoke
words that drift across desert
to forever
never seen again

we speak
spin and drift
float
we speak
the smell of your life
familiar on my hands
silken webs woven skyward

when we speak love
we speak of blood tea
sipped slowly
my sleep sounding voice
stealing into your dreams
telling you history
in oak carved words

when we speak love
we speak
of forever and more likely
…never

and always
there is your mantra

    yes my heart
    I will…

    when you are ready

Absolutely an eloquent, stirring, moving piece of work. Poetry at its best! It just takes my breath away how beautiful this is....and the last line is of course, perfect.

Lady,

I rarely respond . . .
So I would very much like
to add your poem, with your permission,
to my Word File of poems by others.
It would be in good company . . .
What name, if you will,
would you have on it?
