                                  how can i forget her

even though their are times when i honestly regret her walking into my life

i keep asking God why he set her on my table when she was already somebody else's wife

                           then i remember the day i met her

and how her poptarts toasted better

                          than any waffles on Emerald Live

and even though i may never get her

i'm committed to writing love letters

                         until that wonderful day arrives

when she admits my Wile E. Coyote schemes to keep my hopes alive

of winning her even though she clearly let me know that she'd never take a dive

into my pool were contrived

                                      from necessity
