One spring morning
I went into the front yard
and saw a dandelion flower:
I bent down and smelled it,
yes, that's what I did.

The next day
I went into the front yard
and saw a dandelion flower:
I bent down and pulled it up,
yes, that's what I did.

The next day
I went into the front yard
and saw no dandelion flower:
I sat down and I cried,
yes, that's what I did.

I wrote about a dandelion once...still a favorite of mine. Thanks for bringing back  a precious memory.

I used to whack 'em on sight, because that's what Joe Suburban is supposed to do....but over the years I came to like them, and now....well, I never fit the Joe Suburban mode anyway. I let 'em go as long as I dare.

One person's weed is another's flower... personally I pull up the dandelions in the yard because there are so many they are crowding out everything else, but I do feel badly having to do it, as I like the sunny little things when they bloom. Maybe I will make a small space for them to live.

I like your minimalist style here. You've created wonderful imagery with few words.

Siyo WindWalker I cry with you,for the forgotten beauty and usefulness of those things like the Dandilion. This little plant so many call weed is wonderful food, and good medicine as well. The flowers are good food fried in butter, the leaves young and well washed add wonderful flavor to the salad, the greens can be cooked as well,or steamed,my own grandmother made wine from the Dandilion and I have many recipes for this valuable little plant!

Nicely put. Dandelion leaves are useful. They are good for many medical conditions.
