.

It doesn’t make much sense
At this time in our years
To pretend beyond realities
Of what is and who we are

I no more than you
Have any adolescent fantasies
And it would insult intelligence
To suggest I do

So let’s take what pleasures
Two can have
And thank the stars
We still have the urge

Now come to bed
My winter love . . .
There’s nothing more to be said
And the night is cold

I liked the 'matter-of-fact' way of this

.

Thank you both

This was another Ausonius poem
Every so often I get irked

Thanks again
