Great Hopes

As I look out my window
I can't help but wonder
Will there ever come a time
When my life is better

I had great hopes, this time
That I would get ahead
But, it didn't work out that way
It seems I failed, instead

It doesn't matter what I do
It never seems good enough
To get ahead, even a little
Just seems to be too tough

The thoughts I have aren't good
So, I keep them all to myself
What good would it do for me
To even tell anyone else

Vent away, Sweet Sue! ~ and writing poetry is a good way of doing it! You have so many friends here at 'Pip Place'. We all have moments in our lives when we feel less than adequate and can't cut the mustard, so to speak. Share your feelings and don't be ashamed of them.

I am pleased to see you writing more! Your muse is back from her vacation!
