Bright sun thru sparkling raindrops.
Still heat on a damp afternoon.
The whisper of wind in the treetops
on a night when the light is the moon.

Radiant blooms in profusion
   add color and brightness galore
and the long walk over valley and hill
turns thoughts to the welcome in store!

This welcome, My Love, will be joy and the peace
of knowing at last I am home
the warmth from your love that I know cannot cease,
   would enrapture the heavens above.

Mere mortal I am, but likeness there stops
no mortal could ever be me
for in the small span of life here with you
I'm as ageless as yon redwood tree!

Poetry is just the evidence of life.
If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash. "
