Perchance to Dream

I haven't slept of late, you know
for  worry has its will.
And though each day the gambles on,
the tiring does fulfill.

A month I've almost still to go.
At times seems long but then
missing faces will unfold
in February when...

Moving on will be my call
and eyes of 26
will leave me tearful, missing such
a treasured keepsake mix.

They follow me where e'er I go
a smile, mine, theirs to keep.
For now I'll travel every day
in hopes they'll dream their sleep.

M

Beautiful heartfelt write M.

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

I sure understand where you are coming from. We tend to get attached. Don't we?

When you do it well, you
leave behind the smiles of hope.

I'm sure you've given them all
a reason to forge forward.

Well done, m'dear, on all aspects.

Thank you for all your kind responses. Seems I only have energy to respond on weekends.
I don't think there is a smarter group of 6-7 year olds anywhere like this group, who challenge me to challenge them every day.

So instead of  dreaming poetry, I dream fun learning activities for them to do...
