I Don’t Mind

I do not mind the look of age
But mind the calibration stage
The wearing down of faculties
The loss of practicalities

I can no longer swiftly turn
Nor store the things that I would learn
And when I wend I often moan
And when I bend I always groan

The music comes in duller tones
Through lesser skull and muted bones
And though the skin is paper thin
I cannot warm the lean within

I agile over lesser rings
And addle o’er confessor things
And morbid plays each breath I breathe
And absence stays my hand to sheathe

Yet Angles strum upon my chest
To stay the heartbeat drums my breast

Mornin', T-Man ~

I ingest enough vitamins, minerals, enzymes and herbs on a daily basis, to turn Methusela into a nubile nymph!

I'm fighting aging every step of the way! Mind you, I accept what I cannot change.

These earthly bodies wear out far too soon for my liking!

Another fine write, my dear Illustrious Sonneteering friend!

btw Your spirit will be forever young ~ yet wise!

Loves 'n hugs 'n angel kisses,
EA

Seymour~

You write in rhyme
of young at heart
That is the best
place to start ...

As long as those strong legs
hold you up ...
you'll continue to be
our favorite cup
of morning's poetic tea~

Seymour,

I've found on this sight a brilliant rhyming poet of the caliber I seldom see, your picture led me to believe you were slightly older than me (a mere 61), but I might of known, and should not be surprised with your expertise that you are a little more than slightly older.

Your underlying sense of humour and wit in all you write reminds me of an Uncle I had who, though not a writer, had one of the keenest brains I have known.

This is yet another example of your excellent rhyming poetry and it is an honour to read you sir,

Ivor

85? Sir Sy?? no way!! I think that was a typo on your part - perhaps you meant to say 65 yes???  yes, I'm sure that is what you meant to type!   RDB

Seymour, my friend. I have felt so alone all my life. That feeling has never left me. You wrote this beautifully, as always.

I believe it was Art Linkletter that wrote a book titled, "Old Age is Not For Sissys" or something like that...
I suspect those that don't mind, or accept it will have an easier time with it...
each day of our life brings us a little closer to angels and eternity...James

My dear, everyone in this world is alone, all that differs is the degree.

The_Nameless_One,
As I said before I love flattery, thank you.

James,
Those are wise words and you are a good poet.

Oh, my friend... you've plenty of company... I can't slip out of bed without waking the cats with bones cracking and aches moaning! LOL Fortunately, Ron's created a great storage place for things I would learn... it's the library... and this is going into mine! *S*
