Everyone has a purpose
On this stage that we call life
Some may find fulfillment
In being man and wife
Some are called to greatness
Overcoming grief and strife
Others choose to build a bridge
Or plan a city for the ages
Poets have a talent for words
That sing between the pages
Lucky is he who is content
With the path that he has taken
While others become embittered
By love that was forsaken

It's always been a mystery
Why the Good Lord put us here
Why do some men engender love
While others denote fear?
Why do some men die
For causes they hold dear?
I'm sure God had a plan
When he put us here on earth
It was written in the stars
From the moment of our birth
I think I know my destiny
I've felt it all the while
I know the Good Lord put me here
Just to make you smile
