I never knew I had a muse
who helped me find that special word
I really thought I was on my own
But she's been always there I heard

I met her one day on a stroll
Through my garden full of roses
I heard her shout in pure delight
"Oh fragrance sweet, fill up our noses"

I laughed, she smiled and we went on
To the corner of my dreams
We sat down on nature's bench
And she was quite at ease it seems

I glanced at her, not knowing how
I should behave towards this dame
She took my hand and tapped it softly
"I am your friend, Muse is my name"

"You may not know, but I know you well
I've been around for quite some time
And whenever you took your ink and pen
I was often there to help you rhyme"

"Oh dear, oh dear,I screamed confused
Why haven't you done a better job
I write in not my native language
And often cursed or had to sob"

"Relax" she said, "You're doing fine
It doesn't matter if you misspell
A word or two or mess up your grammar
They'll understand your heart quite well"

From that day on we're friends forever
My self esteem grew more and more
I try to avoid making too many mistakes
But writing in English, I just adore

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

Listen to that muse of yours she is quite right, you do better what this being your second language than a lot of folks do with it as their first!  Nicely done Titia, and oh so true, the poetry world is a very forgiving one.

Ain't that the truth?

Your heart speaks well for you...

Love your muse!

Greetings to both you and your Miss Muse! She is almost as witty, charming and wise as you are!

Titia, you're a marvel to be able to write so well in a language that is not your native one!

I adored this write!

Giving you a big ole hug of love and big pat on the back!

Linda
