Stay with me through the rime-touched night
When loneliness feeds on my life for you.
Our existence defines some imagined slight,
All seeds must replace the old with the new.

Cloud all the candles, let the wax run.
While we travel the ever-lands of shade,
Your hand in mine on the winds winter made.
Let us leave, you and I, to seek another sun.

Seeing the gate where you cannot pass,
Lay a kiss on my lips, a reminder of our end.
Your embrace is fragile, your mind made of glass,
Mine will not falter, my imaginary friend.

Accept my song from the times we shared
As payment for your presence on this paradise lawn.
I'll remember, and never forget that you cared
As I close my childhood to face the frozen dawn.
