Vast coral forests crystallized beneath a sea of ice
The flora of this world appears, encapsulated forms.
To emulate such artistry one could name any price
for frozen sculptures shimmering, encased by such a storm.

Refracting light which glimmers through great spider webs of glass,
prismatic bursts color radiate in rainbow hues
to wink from weighted branches at each frozen breeze to pass
their statuesque demeanor lost, as dancing light ensues.

The stasis of this frigid scene by animation's touched,
participants in concert flash their jewel encrusted crowns
in honor of the Ice Queens' Ball, for she demands as much
in crisply stated whispers as the temperature dips down.

For what time conditions favor such an awe inspiring sight,
let this dance of hers' continue to fill eyes with pure delight.

I loved the imagery, superb in each stanza. A delightful sonnet, thank you.

Generationaway,
Thank you, interesting moniker. This is what I percieved of a recent ice storm that passed through our area. We were fortunate, there were some who saw only devastation and death. As with all of Natures' wonders
and furies it would seem there was a fine line between beauty and the appreciation of it.

I often think this way, too, if only one could capture such beauty ... *sigh* ... for it is priceless.

Enjoyed this perspective, fabulous writing here.

Angel4aKing,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm glad you enjoyed this. On reflection, I'd say it was a little "over the top" even for me, Thanks again,
Doc

LeeJ,
Thank you for your kind words.
Doc

Janette,
Thank you. It looked like something out of a Disney movie. As of this writing they are forecasting 3/4" of ice for our area tonight.

Dear Marge,
Thank you so much. I try to "call 'em like I see 'em ". Once again, congratulations on your recent publishing, it is well deserved, and something tells me, if we're fortunate,
there will be more forthcoming.
